♥ Merry Christmas ♥

First off this book is gorgeous! I had to get the UK Edition and I love it so much!

1. Midnights ~ Rainbow Rowell ~ 5/5

I wasn't sure I would like this story as it only takes place on New Years Eve from 2011 - 2014. Mags first met Noel on New Year's Eve 2011 where she saved him an allergic reaction from not eating snacks with nuts in them. And they became best friends. But every New's Years Eve from there on she wants to be the one to kiss Noel but he's always kissing another girl.... until 2014 - her dream finally came true. There are more revelations and I'm not going to say what led up to anything, but this story was so good. I just loved it. I loved both of the characters and their chemistry together! And this wasn't even a long story as opposed to some of the other ones.

2. The Lady and the Fox ~ Kelly Link ~ 3/5

This story was a bit bizarre but I still give it three stars. Every year for a bit of time when it snows, Miranda meets this boy named Fenny in the gardens. He only has until the snow stops falling to be with her. He is apparently trapped by some snow witch or something. And no, they don't really explain why he is trapped. Needless to say Miranda saves him and I guess they have a happily ever after.

3. Angels In The Snow ~ Matte de la pena ~ 5/5

This is a sweet story about a boy named Shy who is watching his bosses apartment for Christmas. Well, rather he's watching the cat. But this boss didn't give him any money before he left and there is no food but maybe a few yogurts and random small things. Shy is starving but he won't try to go out and get help.

Haley is a girl in another apartment that needs to use his shower. They become friends but he doesn't tell her he's starving. I mean I wanted to smack him several times. But I digress. Haley finds out on her own that he has no food and she starts packing it on. She makes him all kinds of food and they form as sweet little romance.

4. Polaris Is Where You'll Find Me ~ Jenny Han - 4/5

This one is cute because Natty is a human that lives at the North Pole with Santa and the Elves. But when she went on a Christmas run with Santa one year she meets a little human boy. She has thought about him ever since and now that she is older she wants to find him. Especially since humans and elves can't be together and the crush she has on Flynn the elf isn't going to work out. I thought the ending was sweet and cute.

5. It's A Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown ~ Stephanie Perkins ~ 5/5

This is a wonderful story about Marigold and North. Marigold wants to use North's voice on her Youtube channel. She does animations and that's what she wants to do for a living with one of the big companies.

North works for his parents tree farm and he's always outside her window selling trees. She doesn't have the money to get a tree but she wants to try to get one so she can talk to him. She asks for a Charlie Brown tree, it's so sweet ♥

North ends up taking the tree to her apartment and then helps her clear a space since there is so much clutter. This ends up taking so many hours and they talk and talk. Marigold finally admits her scheme and other nice things happen. That's all I'm saying ♥

This one was okay. You have Vaughn who is the town prankster.

I was the guy who taught other kids how to egg houses, roll yards, and glue mailboxes shut. And the older I got, the more elaborate my pranks became. In middle school, I filled the clinic with Styrofoam peanuts. Last year, my junior year of high school, I decorated the town Christmas tree with neon thong underwear.

But one of his little pranks turns bad and he ends up catching the Church on fire. So he's in trouble for all of that and helping to fix it back up and work on the pageant. He starts talking to Gracie Robinson and they seem to click and she finds out he's not such a bad guy after all.

10. Welcome To Christmas, Ca ~ Kiersten White ~ 5/5

Maria lives in this small town and works at the diner for her mother and her mother's boyfriend Rick. Maria hates it and wants to get out of town as soon as she can. She's not sure how since she can't afford college and she can't afford much of anything else.

Then when they replace the old cook that passed with the new cook Ben... things become sort of magical. Ben has a way of know what to feed people no matter what they order and it's awesome. They find a little magic together as well and the ending is sweet with Maria's dreams coming true. Even dreams she didn't know she had.

Lovely for Yourself or A Gift

This year has been the year of story collections for me. I have read quite a few of them this year and My True Love Gave to Me might top the list. It is at least tied with The Curiosities. This set of twelve stories was raved about last year and I think it deserved all that praise. There is something for everyone in this collection if you enjoy cute contemporary romance stories. Some stories are very holiday related while others just happen around the holidays. Personally I loved Midnights, The Lady and the Fox (fantastic!), It’s a Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown (OMG this one!!), and The Girl Who Woke the Dreamer.

Like all collections these stories really stood out to me while others weren’t for me. Overall though all the stories gave me the warm fuzzies and made me really happy. This book came along at the right time for me. I needed some feel-good stories because of some stuff going on in my personal life. This book gave me a boost right around the holidays and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this book especially around the holidays!

My favorites were "Midnight", "It's a Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown", "Beer Buckets and Baby Jesus" and "Welcome to Christmas, CA"!

A short summary of my thoughts right after reading each of the stories:

"Midnights" by Rainbow Rowell | 4/5
I really enjoyed this story, it was so cute. Great start to the book.

"The Lady and the Fox" by Kelly Link | 3/5
This was a great fantasy story, I did miss some more information about the characters though.

"Angels in the Snow" by Matt de la Pe�a | 4/5
I was happy to find a NA story in there! Very enjoyable read :)

"Polaris is Where You'll Find Me" by Jenny Han | 2/5
This was so short and not very good! Reminded me too much if the movie Elf, but not in a good way.

I loved this one. There is just something about Perkins' writing! The story felt complete, and I really liked reading about North and Marigold.

About the Author

Masoud Farzaneh, an internationally renowned expert in the field of power engineering, is a professor of Electrical Engineering at the Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi (UQAC). Farzaneh, who receive a Doctor d'Etat in 1986, has taught more than 100 undergraduate and graduate course sessions in electric power engineering. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, IET, and Engineering Institute of Canada.

Shahab Farokhi, Ph.D., received his PhD in 2010. He has taught graduate-level courses in Advanced Power Network Transmission and Operating and Power System Analysis at the Universit� du Qu�bec � Chicoutimi (UQAC). He joined the faculty of Glasgow Caledonian University in 2012.

William A. Chisholm, Ph.D., received a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He has co-supervised more than ten graduate students and delivered industrial training and graduate courses on weather effects on overhead lines. Dr. Chisholm is Secretary of the IEEE Transmission and Distribution Committee and contributes a column to INMR, a quarterly technical magazine for the electrical industry.

Just another William Stevenson book copycat

The book is very basic and the line design part is not really covered in any way. The topics discussed can be found in any introductory power system book. No software implementation is considered for any of the topics covered within the book. Power system book by Hadi Saadat maybe a better option.

Volumes VI–VII comprise later philosophical systems and their aftermath in the fifth and early fourth centuries. Volumes VIII–IX present fifth-century reflections on language, rhetoric, ethics, and politics (the so-called sophists and Socrates) and conclude with an appendix on philosophy and philosophers in Greek drama.

Great resource

This rudiment dictionary is perfect for any percussionist, from beginner to educator to professional performer. It includes all of the rudiments as well as some exercises that use them. My only complaint would be the odd shape of this book. It's very tall and thin, which makes it a little harder to keep track of. I feel like it should either be full size like the rest of the books one would carry, or pocket size so it could fit into your instrument case or pocket. Other than the awkward shape, this book is an excellent resource!

Nemeth is a clinical psychologist who, after losing $35,000 in an investment scam, became interested in psychological and emotional attitudes about money and how financial decisions are made. She went on to create a seminar called "You and Money" and authored a book in 1997 with that title. She has also already released a nine-hour series of cassettes called The Energy of Money on which this newest book is based. Get the book, not the audio program...

First, I ought to say that I purchased both the audio book (as a download) and the written book, hoping to find more material and exercises in the audio program and also with the desire to to be able to review the contents of the program at ease. This was not the case. As another reviewer commented, the presentation is VERY difficult to listen to as it is very monotone and downbeat. I don't think I could listen to the entire program again and I would definately NOT recommend buying the tapes or download.
That said, I found the contents of the book to be quite comprehensive and there are numerous practical exercises throughout the book to complete. The book has its foundations in a number of metaphysical (ie. money as energy), 'spiritual' (i.e. your life purpose and Buddhist concepts of 'structures of knowing' and 'monkey mind' among others) and psychological perspectives (including beliefs systems and blocks). In particular, it is about taking the hero's journey (ie. Joseph Campbell's work), that is, about creating the kind of life that you want and assisting you to clear the blocks in order to achieve this. It aims to get the reader look at themselves, what they really want in life and the internal changes they need to make in order to do this.
The book doesn't contain 'practical' money management strategies - that's not it's focus, it's focus is on the important inner dimension of success and fulfilment. The book is a worthwhile read and I think it's much, much better than many others on the market. The practical exercizes are also useful in enhancing self awareness and in that sense is worth the price of the book - I would definately purchase it again, I just wouldn't buy the audio version, unless you are having problems sleeping!

The best investment you can make

I spent my entire life (from early childhood to late 40s) terrified about becoming poor, about never earning enough, about never having enough, etc. I was always financially desperate at the emotional level, no matter what the outer circumstances. On the surface I looked successful and did fine, but inside I suffered constant anxiety about money issues -- about my financial survival.
A friend gave me this book several years ago and reading it (and doing the exercises) changed something fundamental inside of me. In place of anxiety, I now enjoy a sense of peace and security. The material Dr. Nemeth presents is wise and pragmatic, profound and fascinating to read. It strikes very deeply into the secret heart of the reader where our money problems originate. My outlook has been permanently transformed by what I read and I'm very grateful.
If you've ever felt hopeless about money, or simply wanted to do more with what you have, this book will take you on a journey to mastering your finances from the inside out. Read it to your children. Share it with your friends. I'd rate this book 10 stars if I could.

Why "The Energy of Maney" works

"The Energy of Money," by Maria Nemeth, Ph.D.is NOT a new age serman a la Suzie Orman chiding one regarding spiritual points in one's life which require cleaning up before money comes along. Nor does Nemeth's approach give one the feeling of being preached to by a moneyed person sharing their "get rich" philosphies with all "the little people."
What Nemeth's book does do is explain how ideas begin in a realm of energy, requiring translation into the physical realm.Her guidelines are accompanied by well thought-out explanations which most folks can relate to some other area of their lives.
Dr. Nemeth's approach is basic, straight-forward and makes sense without judgements, spiritual lists, and long verbose explanations.
I definitely recommend this book for anyone desiring to better understand money: what it is/is not, how it moves in the world,and how to relate to the energy of money in a manner which may successfully bring more into one's life.

Fantastic Book!

I have read all his books and have heard most of his lectures, and all I can say is that he was a profoundly powerful teacher who was well ahead of his time. This is a wonderful book that contains a lot of powerful and practical information. Well worth the time and effort to read this book and learn from a master of manifestation.

About the Author

Charlie McCarthy, having graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Manhattan College, joined a large electronics company. His second assignment on their Professional Development Program became permanent, and Charlie began his "first career" as a systems/digital design engineer. For most of his career, his work has been in nuclear instrumentation and control systems, for both commercial and government power plants.

As much as Charlie loved electrons and diodes, he loved working with people more, and gradually grew into technical and project leadership roles. Charlie’s technical and analytical interests and his interest in people found a happy overlap in program management. Along with growth in experience and technical competence, he earned a master’s of science in electrical engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. He has successfully managed a wide range of projects and programs, from those with one or two people to large, complex hardware and software programs involving over 50 engineers and operations personnel.
