It is a good book. Many of the information in this book can be found on his other book "All the places to go...". A central theme in this book is: "God’s primary will for your life is not the circumstances you inhabit; it’s the person you become". I would definitely recommend this book.

Too Much Guesswork Instead Of God's Personal Guidance.

Too many Old Testament references about the way that non Spirit Filled people were led by God. We are under a New Covenant where we have the promise of hearing our Shepherd and knowing His voice, not guesswork.
This book relies heavily on the, "Try it and see if it works" method of discerning God's will. The Bible calls Christians "soldiers," but I don't know of any army that doesn't issue clear directives to the troops. Yes, a soldier is expected to use his training to think on his feet, but the commanding officer doesn't just say, "Go somewhere and see if you can find the enemy." A soldier is sent to a specific location with his specific orders.
I believe that God has an exact plan for each of our lives, and He wants to tell us what it is, not just have us spending our lives guessing.

Great short read about Godly discernment

I came across this when at a crossroads and found the advice helpful - making decisions builds character. Like with our kids, we learn from the choices we make - and God allows us to do that too. It's more about who we are than what we do that's important. We can use His word for guidance; and we are meant to take action and not be paralyzed in any situation.
